Russell Brennan delves into the wild world of David Bowie and the creativity and challenge of making art in the deep and insightful biography Hidden David Bowie: The Catalyst & The Geisha! Brennan covers the life and work of David Bowie, but looks at it through a very interesting lens as an artist himself (and someone who knew Bowie). It was really fun looking at Bowie, one of my personal faves, as a Geisha and what it means to be a multiplatform artist. Brennan brings his own insights and wealth of music knowledge, making this a very engaging read. I particularly appreciate Brennan’s deeper look at how Bowie failed numerous times and somehow escaped being cancelled by the record companies (the common practice in big industry music), which is inspirational and a really cool honest look at the industry. If you love David Bowie and want a unique look back at his life and music, definitely come check out Brennan’s insights with Hidden David Bowie!
