George Hahn brings us a compelling hard sci fi drama about the battle for power and the future of humanity with Energy Unlimited! Camila and Ben Pinto team up in 2048 to build a lasting power source for humanity. But the road to clean abundant energy is never smooth, and the two soon find themselves navigating a field of competitors, technical problems, and politics. I’ve always really enjoyed the grounded nature of Hahn’s science fiction series, so seeing a very down to Earth prequel series to his outstanding space exploration series was really fun! I really enjoyed seeing how the stepping stones to interstellar travel were laid in this book, and the characters and company in this book were very believable. It was also intriguing to see how politics wrapped into their struggle for energy generation. This is not only a fun read but also a pertinent one for today’s world. All around, if you love books that lean into hard sci fi and realism while still being very fun and fluid to read, definitely come crack some atoms and make a few sparks with Energy Unlimited!
