Kris Nedy enchants us with a wonderful new fairy tale filled with creatures, consequences, and magic with The Fairy of the Enchanted Lake! Young Michaela is down on herself about her appearance, something not helped by the bullies that hound her. But one day she encounters a beautiful fairy who promises to make her beautiful and admired by all. Michaela takes the deal and finds herself living the high life in the royal palace, adored by all, but a deal with a fairy is oft ill advised and Michaela soon finds an evil growing from withinside her. Nedy captures all the great charm of classic fairy tales with his intriguing world, a relatable main character, and a deep moral struggle! Michaela’s struggle was very human and personal, but I also enjoyed the splash of creatures and lush fantasy she encountered along the way as she tried to save herself from the fairy’s curse. This is a return to classic fantasy at its finest, so if you’re looking for a deep fairy tale quest, come make a deal with The Fairy of the Enchanted Lake!
