EM Cummings throws us into an exciting romantic thriller full of intrigue with Gunrunner’s Daughter! Angel is the daughter of Emilio, Eastern Europe’s most infamous gunrunner. She desperately wants to create a name for herself and begins to do a little gunrunning of her own, but Emilio is traditional and demands she focus on marrying a rich husband instead. Striking a deal, Emilio gives Angel one year to find a husband of her own before he arranges one for her. Cummings sets up a really fun dual plot here with the romantic tension on one side and the intrigue of the seedy gun smuggling trade on the other which made for a really engrossing read! I was equally invested in both threads and was really rooting for crime lord Angel as Cummings steadily ratcheted up the tension. If you’re looking for romance that’s more on the tense and darker side of things, definitely come take a shot with Gunrunner’s Daughter!
