Dale Lehman takes us on a trip through dozens of fun, tense, scary, and mysterious short stories with Manifest Secrets! I’ve been a big fan of Lehman’s work for years, especially his Howard County mysteries. The man knows how to tell a really compelling mystery, so it was fun to see him branch into a mass variety of genres like horror and humor, and to do them so well! Many of these stories are quirky and have a lot of depth to them. Some evoke an air of nostalgia. And as an old horror writer myself, I rather enjoyed Lehman’s suspenseful offerings. The tone was a bit all over the place, which some readers might not enjoy, but I thought that’s what makes Manifest Secrets fun. You never knew what you were going to get after turning the page, and it made this book feel a bit like an adventure! If you love short stories, many of which stick with you or make you laugh, come search through the enigma that is Manifest Secrets!
