Obelisk: The Long Dream Review

Obelisk: The Long Dream

Solus

Solus brings us an exciting blend of sci fi and fantasy in his futuristic epic Obelisk: The Long Dream!  In a futuristic city that blends magic and technology, Faeron dreams each night of his mother’s mysterious disappearance.  Now he must complete the dream through the eyes of another as he masters the mystic arts of the Kytra if he has any hope of finding out what really happened to his mother.  Solus blends the best aspects of fantasy, sci fi, and personal drama really well in a very satisfying mix!  I really enjoyed the mystical world filled with creatures, magic and tech combos, and mystery, but I loved how the story really focused on the personal drama of Faeron and his search for his mother.  The deep character driven story in a greater world that draws you in is one of my favorite aspects of Star Wars, which is what this story sort of reminds me of (pleasantly).  If you love Sci Fi and Fantasy that has a nice character focus and deep world building that doesn’t get in the way, definitely come start the search through magic and dreams with Obelisk!
