Circular Time Review

Circular Time

Gary Stringer

Gary Stringer somehow outdoes himself again, bringing us another over the top epic battle across time with Circular Time!  The angel Purity has come to cleanse Tempestria of all life, and the only thing standing in the way is the Guardians.  Now the Guardians must travel back through time, revisiting critical moments throughout the epic series in their attempt to stop the apocalyptic deity.  Stringer always manages to have really awesome villains and deep heroes, so this book was a delight seeing both amplified.  Purity was a fascinating villain, being both ‘good’ in a sense but also an unstoppable force of apocalyptic destruction.  It was also really fun seeing the Guardians revisit critical moments from the whole series, getting to explore them in new ways and deepen the characters.  It felt like a nice love letter to the whole series (a series I’ve loved reading over the years), yet it’s a nice standalone introduction to the series too if you’re just jumping on now.  All around, if you love a good blend of sci fi and fantasy, with some cool time travel and paradoxes thrown in, definitely come battle an angel with Circular Time!
