Marcha Fox and Pete Risingsun bring us an exciting mystery thriller with a drop of paranormal in The Curse of Dead Horse Canyon: Cheyenne Spirits! When Sara Reynolds’ husband is killed under mysterious circumstances, she returns to the canyon seeking answers. She teams up with Charlie Littlewolf, seeking his guidance as his ability to commune with spirits begins to reveal itself. Fox and Risingsun instantly build a compelling narrative filled with great questions and mystery at every turn. Both characters are fantastic and feel natural and likeable, but Charlie was my favorite with his deeper spiritual connection and closer look at Cheyenne culture. I loved how this novel is rooted in history and reality, but also has a bit of fun adding a more mysterious supernatural element in there while not sacrificing believability. If you love mysteries with great twists, Native American culture, or novels with light amounts of supernatural sprinkled in, definitely come unravel a conspiracy with Cheyenne Spirits!
