Tony Travis lets us jump through exciting and dangerous worlds in his hit sci fi follow up Unearthing Worlds! After the previous events of the first book, Colonel Brice Messman and his team have been stranded on a strange alien world. Now the Colonel must lead his team through the Keyholes (portals connecting distant worlds and realities) in an attempt to get home while his brother races against time trying to save them from within the lab. Travis’s first book was packed full of the sense of discovery and excitement as the Keyhole allowed the team to explore strange new worlds, and the second book in the series dials that up as we’re faced with new dangers! I love Travis’s style mixing in great hard sci fi (which I love) with realistic fast-paced survival and a deep military knowledge. This was another novel of discovery, and I loved getting to see where the team would end up next. Like the first novel, I was pleasantly reminded of Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis, and I already can’t wait for the third novel to see how this adventure wraps up. If you’re looking for a mix of hard sci fi, survival adventure, with a bit of military thriller blended in, definitely come explore strange new worlds with Unearthing Worlds!
