But when he returns home from a convention and one of those sentient Chimera’s returns home with him, he’s in for a wild ride. I have always known Dr. Davis’ works for their truly unique takes on things and deeper thoughts they leave you with, and Refuge for the Khymera doesn’t disappoint! I loved this idea that stray imaginative thoughts are actually sentient beings with a fickle nature, and how Davis blended this into a unique adventure with a healthy dose of romance and deception! This was also a really fresh look at the struggle between reality and imagination that leaves you thinking when you’re done (and possibly making a few Chimeras of your own). If you’re looking for a very unique sci fi adventure that is anchored strongly in character development (in a good way), definitely come provide a Refuge for the Khymera!
