Laura Pruett draws us into a whimsical fantasy world with the fun children’s book The Dwarves of Dimmerdown! The book introduces a sense of wonder as you’re encouraged to watch of the illusive dwarves as they go about their business in the mountains and forests. I really enjoyed Pruett’s rhymes and the colorful pictures, but I think what I enjoyed most was a return to the fantasy genre for children’s books. There hasn’t been that many of these types of books in recent years, and Pruett really captures the mystical feel of what made these special for me as a kid. This would be a fun book to read with kiddos and then take them hiking to look for dwarves.
